        Project info:

Bryn Blaen is a project for six wind turbines to power the demand from around 8,400 UK households. Located in the Powys region of Wales, the site was commissioned in 2014, as part of the UK’s move to renewable energy.

Utilligence is contracted to provide a 24/7 rapid response service, alongside scheduled operations and maintenance services that ensures the wind farm continues to run, providing safe onsite operating and continuity of service.

The site substation houses a 33/132kV transformer, switchgear and metering equipment. As a result of the extra-high-voltage, the safety of the site is crucial. This is where Utilligence’s expert engineering pedigree comes to the fore, with fully trained and experienced response teams taking charge of ensuring the site continues to operate in a safe and efficient manner. Utilligence’s network of expert engineers throughout the UK means that they are able to respond within hours to critical situations from their engineering control centre, and offer a range of customer-focused O&M solutions.

The recent storms in early 2022 created a number of issues on site, which Utilligence managed quickly and efficiently, to ensure that the UK power network was able to continue operating without any impact on the continuity of service from the Bryn Blaen site.
