Project info:
Located in a residential area of central Weston Super Mare, on the site of a former car park, the Warne Road STOR (Short Term Operating Reserve) site sits in a flood plain that requires additional flood protection measures to operate safely in challenging conditions, providing local power services at peak times to support the national grid.
Utilligence was selected as ICP (Independent Connection Provider) to connect the site to the grid, thanks to their NERS approved credentials (National Electricity Registration Scheme) up to 132kV. Utilligence is providing all design and build services as part of the contract and has also been awarded the EPC (Engineering Procurement Contract), to deliver and install all major electrical works and cabling to the site.
A key deliverable on the site is Utilligence’s own-branded power transformer and a pre-built 11kV customer switch room, which Utilligence is building offsite and is connection-ready, reducing the time needed on site, minimising the associated risks and delivering a quick, safe and fast solution.
The project is currently underway with the works scheduled for delivery by September 2022.
